LeatherTrend® owner Robinson&Robinson Group has acquired upholstery specialist Richter Design.    Los Angeles-based Richter will become a division of Robinson & Robinson, also the parent of LeatherTrend®, SofaTrend® and EasyTrend®.

Richter President Braden Richter will join the San Diego-based upholstery company as president of the newest division, now called Robinson&Robinson dba Richter Design.   

Braden Richter founded the company with past partners in 1997.   "This merger with one of the largest factories on the West Coast, together with our designs, gives us new life," he said. "I'm just happy to be working with furniture people as opposed to investors from outside the industry."   Richter Design specializes in producing up-market upholstery products catering to lifestyle retailers like Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Williams-Sonoma Home and Z Gallerie.

Richter Design will move out of the plant it operated in San Luis, Mexico to a dedicated facility owned by Robinson&Robinson in Tijuana, Mexico - just south of San Diego, CA.
